Bamboo needs to be stripped of its outer covering for developing smooth surface to make part of interior decoration in rooms/houses, cups, pen stands, etc. Manual method of doing the job is time consuming and laborious. The machine developed by Mr. Toshi can do all the operation of removing the outer knots, smoothening the surface, carving internal/external and finishing at one platform. The machine has soft touch joystick controlled operating system and enables operator to work precisely.
The machine consists of the following parts:-
- Planer assembly - is the heart of machine and consists of a two-stage planer unit. The first stage is for removing the outer hard covering and second stage for making the surface smooth
- Bamboo feeder assembly - feeds the bamboo to the planer grip (semi balancer) and it is self-adjusting to different sizes of bamboo
- Gripper assembly - is a unique component for keeping the bamboo in position and also anti rolling. The gripper is self-adjusting to all sizes of bamboo
- Inner side planer - this machine is for curving the inside of the bamboo, which will be used for making pet bottles
- Outer lid rim carver - this component curves the outer rim of the bamboo pet bottle. It has a blade assembly (3 blades in circular form) on the outer circle of the assembly block and an inner guide at the centre of the assembly block which is also adjustable to suit the size of the bamboo
- Lid rim carver - this machine is for curving the inner side of the bamboo (lid). It consists of a side guide (adjustable) and three blades along the assembly unit. It also controls the depth of the lid rim
